1964 Fender Vibroverb ‘blackface’ (AB763 circuit) in miraculous, more than excellent condition, equipped with its original JBL D130F speaker, also in perfect condition, and its vibrato/reverb footswitch.
The overall aesthetic condition of this collector's item is impeccable, apart from a few small traces of wear on the tolex and a hint of surface oxidation on the chassis.
No repairs, alterations or modifications have been made to this amp.
The amp has recently been fully reviewed (new tubes + Fender NOS capacitors and resistors to the exact original specifications) to guarantee its future owner hundreds of hours of trouble-free playing.
Both channels work perfectly and with very little hum (for a blackface). As for the tremolo and reverb, they sound incredible.
The JBL speaker gives this amp an absolutely unique and rather mythical sonic identity, in this case the one found on Stevie Ray Vaughan's early career recordings...!
The asking price for this amp reflects its rarity (less than 500 examples of the AB763 circuit were produced, unlike the more common AA763 circuit), its popularity, its ‘collector’ aesthetic and its absolutely impeccable technical condition.
